Title: RE1 - 06-D Elementary School

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Real Estate Sale and Purchase Contract for acquisition of an improved property containing 1.53 acres, more or less, West Palm Beach, Florida, which is needed for the New Elementary School campus 06-D, as herein described; approve a resolution declaring structure(s) located on the property to be acquired by the School Board to be unnecessary for Educational purposes, surplus and without commercial value; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

  • The FY 2007-2011 Five Year Plan includes the New Elementary School 06-D.

 

  • The improved income producing property located at 1437 Stacy Street North, West Palm Beach, containing 1.53+ acres is part of the new site area selected for 06-D. (See Exhibit “A”)

 

  • 06-D is intended to relieve Wynnebrook Elementary School and West Gate Elementary School.

 

  • The Contract price for the improved property is $565,000.00.  The appraised value of the property is $565,000.00.

 

  • The Purchase price was negotiated with the owner as a willing seller.

 

Demolition Costs: $60,000.00

 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Project’s Budget is $625,000.00
