Title: PM2 Educational Specification for Royal Palm Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Educational Specification for construction of Royal Palm School, amend the project budget to $ 43,013,252 and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
- The construction of Royal Palm School is scheduled to commence SY 2006-07 and be completed by SY 20078-09 according to the draft FY 2008-2012 Five-Year Plan.
- The original Educational Specification for Royal Palm School was Board approved on March 16, 2005. The original Educational Specification included additional classrooms, core expansion and HVAC replacement.
- After a cost analysis, the scope of work was approved to include the construction of a replacement facility. Therefore, a new Educational Specification was needed to meet the change in the scope of work.
- District and school staff worked diligently to align the facility list and program needs to meet the unique requirements of the student population.
- The “CSR” FISH Capacity of this school design will be 638 for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten to 12.
Financial Impact:
Financial impact will be determined when construction contract is negotiated.
