SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The purpose, structure, function, and protocols of the Independent Sales Surtax Oversight Committee, an independent advisory committee to the Board.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To provide a charter outlining the purpose and function of an independent committee to oversee and verify the implementation of the plan for using the half-cent sales surtax to be imposed in Palm Beach County from January, 2005 through December, 2010.

PUBLIC HEARING: It is anticipated that this rule development will be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on February 22, 2006, anticipated to begin at 5:00 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The hearing is open to the public. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by February 15 on the District’s Web site.
