RULE TITLE: Employment of Substitute Teachers, Teachers of Adult Education, and Nondegreed Teachers of Career Programs.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 3.85.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Standards for employment of substitute teachers, teachers of adult education, and nondegreed teachers of career programs.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: This revision will update the terminology and statement of educational qualifications for substitute teachers, teachers of adult education, and nondegreed teachers of career programs. The primary change is to reduce from 60 to 30 the minimum number of college-credit hours required for nondegreed substitute teachers.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Development of the proposed rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on May 30, 2007, anticipated to begin at about 4:00 p.m. (an approximate time, as the actual start time may vary earlier or later) in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available on May 23 on the District's Web site.
