RULE TITLE: Choice Schools and Programs.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 5.016.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The District's procedures for choice schools and programs.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: This revision would update the version of the Procedures Manual that is incorporated by reference; and the Policy would also incorporate by reference the District’s Choice Programs Booklet (for the 2008-2009 school year), which sets forth the eligibility requirements for the choice programs and provides additional information relating to the programs. The revision additionally explains that certain information in the Manual and Handbook may be subject to change during the school year.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Development of the proposed rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on November 14, 2007, anticipated to begin at 3:00 p.m. (an approximate time, as the actual start time may vary earlier or later) in the media center of Rosenwald Elementary School, 1321 Martin Luther King. Jr. Blvd., South Bay, FL 33493. AGENDA: An agenda will be available by November 7, 2007 on the District's Web site. Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this hearing is asked to advise the agency at least 48 hours in advance by contacting the Board clerk at 434-8139. A person may submit written comments (12 copies) about the proposed action to the clerk no later than the time of the public hearing. This hearing is open to the public.
