RULE TITLE: Student Suspension.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 5.1815.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Criteria and procedures for out-of-school suspension, as defined in Fla. Stat. § 1003.01(5)(a).

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this Policy is to codify uniform guidelines for school administrators regarding criteria and procedures for imposing out-of-school suspensions, including a 59% limitation on credit for homework completed during a suspension (but full credit will be available for nine-week and semester exams and major projects timely made up after a suspension).

PUBLIC HEARING: It is anticipated that this rule development will be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on February 23, 2005, anticipated to begin at 2:15 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The hearing is open to the public. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by February 16 on the District’s Web site.
