NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE REPEAL & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Football Stadium Tax (Repeal).

RULE NUMBER: Policy 6.21.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To repeal a policy that is no longer needed.

SUMMARY: Will repeal Policy 6.21, which since 1983 had designated a percentage of admissions sold for events held at high school football fields, to be placed in the school's internal account for upkeep of the football field. (After the repeal, the Superintendent may direct that such funds be used for direct enhancement of the sports programs, while stadium/field upkeep will continue to be funded by the general fund, as it predominantly is currently.)

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Repeal of this rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on July 13, 2005, anticipated to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by July 6 on the District's Web site. Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this hearing is asked to advise the agency at least 48 hours in advance by contacting the Board clerk at 434-8139.
