NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE DEVELOPMENT & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Football Stadium Tax (Repeal).

RULE NUMBER: Policy 6.21.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Proposed repeal of Policy 6.21.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To repeal the current policy which, since 1983, had designated a percentage of admissions sold for events held at high school football fields, to be placed in the school's internal account for upkeep of the football field. (After the repeal, the Superintendent may direct that such funds be used for direct enhancement of the sports programs, while stadium/field upkeep will continue to be funded by the general fund, as it predominantly is currently.)

PUBLIC HEARING: It is anticipated that this rule development will be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on May 11, 2005, anticipated to begin at 2:15 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The hearing is open to the public. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by May 4 on the District’s Web site. Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in these meetings is asked to advise the agency at least 48 hours before the workshop by contacting the Board Clerk at 434-8139. This meeting is open to the public.
