SCHOOL BOARD OF PALM BEACH COUNTY

CHANGE from May 24 to June 28: The public hearing of the following proposed rules, previously announced for May 24, has been postponed to June 28, 2004, at 2:15 p.m. There will also be a workshop to discuss these proposed rules on June 21.

PROPOSED RULE ADOPTIONS AFFECTED: Second reading of Policy 5.1817 "Student Expulsion" and 5.1818 "Student Early Reinstatement."

PROPOSED RULE DEVELOPMENTS AFFECTED: First reading of Policies 5.1815 "Student Suspension;" 8.1225 "Instructional Materials Accountability;" 7.25 "Designation of Historic School Board Facilities;" and 5.60 "Eligibility for Participation in K-12 Extracurricular Activities." Additional policies proposed for first reading/development may be announced later.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: The School Board announces a public hearing to which all persons are invited. DATE AND TIME: June 28, 2004, anticipated to begin at 2:15 p.m. PLACE: The Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Proposed rule adoption and development, including those listed above. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by June 21 on the District’s Web site at www.SchoolBoardPolicies.com/revisions.htm.

PUBLIC WORKSHOP NOTICE: In addition to the June 28 public hearing announced above, the School Board also announces a June 21 public workshop to which all persons are invited. DATE AND TIME: June 21, 2004, anticipated to begin at 4:00 p.m. PLACE: The Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER: Discussion of proposed Policies that time did not permit discussing at the May 24 Special Meeting on Policies. AGENDA: A copy of the agenda will be available by June 14 on the District’s Web site.
