RULE TITLE: Wellness Promotion.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 2.035.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The following proposed policy is intended to fulfill the requirement under Public Law 111-296 (42 U.S.C. § 1758b) and Florida Statutes Section 1003.453(1) that school districts shall have a local “school wellness policy” to promote student health, safety, and the reduction of childhood obesity, as well as to promote wellness for District employees. Since the inception of this Policy, wellness efforts have grown and evolved throughout the District and the community

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Adoption of the proposed rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on April 22, 2015, anticipated to begin at 2:00 p.m. (an approximate time, as the actual start time may vary earlier or later) in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard; West Palm Beach, Fla. AGENDA: An agenda will be available by April 15, 2015 on the District's Web site. Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this hearing is asked to advise the agency at least 48 hours in advance by contacting the Board clerk at 434-8139.
