NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE ADOPTION & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Comprehensive Safety Inspections.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 2.031.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To amend the provisions on sanitation, casualty, and firesafety inspections of District facilities in accordance with current law.

SUMMARY: Consistent with recent changes in state law under Ch. 2002-287, Laws of Florida (effective July 1, 2002) and Fla. Stat. § 1013.12, which took effect on January 7, 2003, this revision prescribes inspections twice per year, including an annual firesafety inspection by local authorities in addition to an annual sanitation, casualty, and firesafety inspection by the District; provides for reports to authorities and correction of deficiencies.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Adoption of the proposed Policy is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on June 2, 2003, anticipated to begin at 2:00 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to the public.
