NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE ADOPTION

RULE TITLE: Public Records.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 2.041.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To update the District's procedures for maintaining public records and fulfilling public-records requests.

SUMMARY: This proposed revision will update and clarify District procedures for maintaining public records in accordance with the District's records-retention schedule; provides guidance for fulfilling public-records requests; revises the schedule of fees pursuant to F.S. 119.07(1); explains the special services charge for extensive use of technology resources and/or clerical/supervisory assistance; sets forth guidelines for handling requests for certain classes of documents and computer data; provides for redaction of exempt and confidential information; summarizes the most common exemptions and confidentiality requirements.
