NOTICE OF CHANGE IN POLICY ADOPTION

RULE AFFECTED: Policy 3.29.

TITLE: Employee Use of Technology.

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with subparagraph § 120.54(3)(d)1, Fla. Stat., that changes were made to the proposed rule at the final reading.

BASIS FOR CHANGES: The record of the School Board's public hearing on Policies on September 8, 2003 at 6:00 p.m.

CHANGES: Section (4)(d) of the proposed revision is amended to clarify the source of standards for prohibited use of e-mail: the illegality standard is based on state and federal statutory law, federal regulations, and state rules; the unethical content standard is based on Fla. Statutes Chapter 112 and Chapter 6B-1 of the State Board of Education rules; and the irresponsible content standard is as determined by the reasonable judgment and discretion of the employee's supervisor.

ADOPTION: The original Adoption Notice was published in The Palm Beach Post on August 11, 2003, announcing the September 8, 2003 special meeting on Policies. Pursuant to § 120.54(3)(d)1, Fla. Stat., no further public hearing will be held on this proposed rule unless the Clerk of the School Board receives a written request for a hearing (with copy to the Office of Chief Counsel) from an affected person within 21 days of the September 11, 2003, publication date of this notice. Thus, the proposed policy should be adopted and effective on October 9, 2003, 28 days after publication of this notice.
