NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Performance Pay for School Administrators and Instructional Personnel.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 3.302. The accompanying modified salary schedule for the CTA bargaining unit, reflecting the 5% supplement, will also be presented for Board approval.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: A five-percent pay supplement for school administrators and instructional personnel who demonstrate outstanding performance as measured under the assessment procedure of Fla. Stat. § 1012.34, as required by § 1012.22(1)(c)4. Additionally, the modified salary schedule, reflecting the supplement, will be presented.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: Implements Fla. Stat. § 1012.22(1)(c)4 by providing for a budget reserve fund and salary schedules for the 2002-2003 fiscal year (and thereafter) to allow school administrators and instructional personnel to earn a five-percent pay supplement if they have demonstrated outstanding performance as measured under the assessment procedure of Fla. Stat. § 1012.34 and the provisions of this Policy. Summarizes the process for determining outstanding performance, including a student achievement component; and provides that this Policy will be applied consistent with the CTA Agreement.
