NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE DEVELOPMENT & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Student Records Correction and Appeals.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 5.1816.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Procedures for correction of information contained within student education records, upon request by a parent or adult student.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this Policy is to provide uniform guidelines and procedures for the correction, deletion, expunction, or rebuttal of education record data that a parent or adult student shows to be inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate under Fla. Stat. § 1002.22(3)(c).

PUBLIC HEARING: It is anticipated that this rule development will be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on December 8, 2003, anticipated to begin at 3:00 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to the public.
