NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE ADOPTION & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Student Early Reinstatement.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 5.1818.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To codify standards for the limited opportunity for early reinstatement of students that have been expelled, pursuant to Fla. Stat. § 1001.43(1)(e).

SUMMARY: It is the intent of the School Board that students serve the full term of their expulsions, while also recognizing the appropriateness of limited exceptions where students demonstrate fulfillment of stated criteria. This proposed Policy will codify standards and criteria for consideration of students' requests for early reinstatement.

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COST (OPTIONAL, IF ONE HAS BEEN PREPARED): None. Any person who wishes to provide information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing within 21 days of the publication of this Notice.
