RULE TITLE: Use of Automated External Defibrillators.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 5.323.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: A program for coordinating and training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools and other District facilities.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To establish an organized program whereby individuals and response teams would receive training in the use of automated external defibrillators for saving the life of persons in cardiac arrest; protocols for such response teams; and installation of AEDs at sites where individuals have received appropriate training.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Development of the proposed rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on June 28, 2004, anticipated to begin at 2:15 p.m. in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla.
