RULE TITLE: "Authorized Travel Expense Reimbursement."

RULE NUMBER: Policy 6.01.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Updating standards and procedures for approval and reimbursement of in-county and out-of-county/out-of-state travel necessary for the business of the District.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To update the rule such as: to adopt reimbursement rates differing from State rates for subsistence and mileage, as allowed by the 2003 amendment to Fla. Stat. § 112.061(14)(a)3; mileage reimbursement rates will track the IRS rates in effect at the time of the travel; subsistence rates will be in line with rates of other local government entities that have revised their rates under the statutory amendment; per diem rates will remain as specified in Fla. Stat. § 112.061(6)(a)1; certain direct vendor prepayments will be allowed in some situations such as when cost-savings would result to the District, a discount is available for earlier payment, or an earlier payment is required for a reservation; and requirements for documentation of incidental expenses are brought in line with the similar State policy.
