RULE TITLE: Diversity and Equitable Utilization in Business.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 6.143.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Standards and procedures for encouraging increased utilization of minority/women business enterprises, as defined in Fla. Stat. §§ 287.094 and 288.703, in the District's procurement programs to remedy disparities in the use of such enterprises which are ready, willing, and able to provide goods and services to the District.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To contribute to the socioeconomic development of Palm Beach County through encouraging equitable utilization of minority/women business enterprises in procurement programs by remedying disparities in the utilization of such enterprises which are ready, willing, and able to provide goods and services to the District, with project goals that are narrowly tailored and specific to the project with the use of the CHAMP-AM database defining disparity in construction, goods and services, and procurement contracting.

PUBLIC HEARING: It is anticipated that development of this proposed rule may be considered at a hearing on January 12, 2004, anticipated to begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. This meeting is open to the public.
