RULE TITLE: Purchasing Department.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 6.14.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Procurement procedures for commodities and contractual services, other than construction.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To make amendments such as: includes provisions required by State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.012 and provisions for online and electronic procurement such as the District purchasing card; raises the threshold for certain competitive procurements to $25,000 to be in line with state law; delegates to the Superintendent or designee the authority to approve all contracts arising from price-based bids or quotes; delegates authority to department heads to approve purchases of contractual services up to $2,500; incorporates the substance of, and calls for the repeal of, Policies 2.51 and 6.145 concerning consultant contracts; expands and clarifies bid protest procedures consistent with state law.
