RULE NUMBER: Policy 7.125.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Exemption from certain requirements of the Department of Education regarding the Castaldi analysis to validate the Educational Plant Survey or an amendment of the survey.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To implement an exemption approved by the State Board of Education on January 21, 2003, for Charter District status, by developing and adopting a Policy consistent with the State's waiver which will allow the Board to consider additional criteria beyond the age of the building and its estimated replacement cost to determine if a building should be replaced, subject to certain stated criteria and oversight by the Construction Oversight Review Committee. If the results of a standard Castaldi analysis indicate that the District should renovate a building, the District may apply additional criterion to make the determination. If the District decides to replace the building, local funds will be used to pay for the cost of the replacement.
