NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE ADOPTION & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Building Code.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 7.21.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To implement the Florida Building Code in this school district, including interpretations of the Code and stop-work orders.

SUMMARY: Revises the Policy in accordance with recent changes in the K-20 Education Code and the Florida Building Code. The revision provides for the District's building official to render interpretations of the building code and issue stop-work orders when work on any District building, structure, or electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing system is found to be contrary to the provisions of the Florida Building Code.

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COST (OPTIONAL, IF ONE HAS BEEN PREPARED): None. Any person who wishes to provide information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing within 21 days of the publication of this Notice.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Adoption of the proposed Policy is anticipated to be considered at the Board's Special Meeting on Policies on April 28, 2003, anticipated to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to the public.
