NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE ADOPTION & PUBLIC HEARING

RULE TITLE: Transfer Of High School Credits.

RULE NUMBER: Policy 8.20.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To updates the current Policy to conform with the September, 2003 revision of State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.09941, "State Uniform Transfer of High School Credits."

SUMMARY: Supplements and makes more specific the State Board of Education Rule which establishes uniform procedures relating to the acceptance of transfer work and credit for students entering Florida's public schools.

LAWS IMPLEMENTED: § 1003.25(3), Fla. Stat.

STATE BOARD RULE SUPPLEMENTED: 6A-1.09941.

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COST (OPTIONAL, IF ONE HAS BEEN PREPARED): None. Any person who wishes to provide information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing within 21 days of the publication of this Notice.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Adoption of the proposed rule is anticipated to be considered at the School Board's Special Meeting on Policies on April 19, 2004, anticipated to begin at 5:00 p.m., in the Board Chambers at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to the public.
