Title: RE2 Approve Lease Agreement With St. Mary’s Orthodox Church

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Lease Agreement between St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of West Palm Beach, Florida, and the School Board of Palm Beach County, for the temporary use of the parking lot located at 1317 Florida Mango Road, West Palm Beach, Florida, providing parking during Berkshire Elementary School’s relocation to the Meadow Park Elementary School Campus for the 2005-2006 school year; and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

• Berkshire Elementary School will be temporarily located on the Meadow Park Elementary School campus during Berkshire Elementary School’s Modernization.
• Additional parking is needed due to the co-location of the two Elementary Schools.
• St. Mary’s Orthodox Church is the closest facility to Meadow Park Elementary School with available parking able to accommodate the school’s needs.
• The lease will provide 80 parking spaces for Berkshire Elementary School’s faculty and visitors.  (See map, Exhibit “A”)
• The lease term is from August 1, 2005 thru June 15, 2006 at a rate of $500.00 per month.
• St. Mary’s reserves the exclusive right to use the Leased Premises on Sundays.

Financial Impact:
The Financial Impact to the Capital Funds Project Budget is $5,250.00.
