Title: Recommendation: Description: This confirming contract is presented to the School Board due to the lack of correspondence between the date of placement of the student and the board meeting date. This student was attending a full time special school program at Indian Ridge School. After a very serious incident, the student was Baker Acted to Columbia Hospital. The treating psychiatrist at Columbia Hospital and the student's private psychiatrist consulted with the Executive Director, ESE Department, and family, and recommended that the student enters a residential facility for a diagnostic placement. An Individual Education Plan (IEP) team met on February 11, 2005, and confirmed that the student requires a diagnostic placement in a residential facility due to severe behavioral and emotional issues. The district will pay for this student's diagnostic and habilitation services for only those days the student is physically present and in attendance. The diagnostic placement provides the additional data required to determine the student's future educational needs. This cooperative agreement is in compliance with State Board Rule 6A.6-0361, "Special Programs for Contractual Agreements with Non-Public Schools."
