Title: AC1 Funding for Academic Flag Football

Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the Agreement between Prime Time Palm Beach County and the School District of Palm Beach County for the funding of Middle School After- School Academic Flag Football.

Description:

• Prime Time Palm Beach County has granted the School District $29,649 to pay for 65% of the costs associated with Middle School After-School Academic Flag Football at three schools.  
• Participating schools include Bear Lakes, H.L. Watkins, John F. Kennedy and Conniston.  Conniston will be district funded through the After-School Program. 
• Schools are now playing intramural flag football.  Schools will begin playing each other when the following barriers are resolved:
  • Transportation – Travel time will prohibit students from arriving back at their home school in time to catch the activities bus home.
  • Referees – There is a shortage of referees in the county.
• Prime Time Palm Beach County is a non-profit organization providing technical assistance and resources to after-school care providers throughout Palm Beach County.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Special Revenue - Other Funds Budget is an increase of $29,649.
