Title: PM10 Project Modifications for Spanish River High

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $23,900.00 for Spanish River High School, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Spanish River High Auditorium Project #1681-8272

This Project Modification contains the following item:

• Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $23,900.00
• Description: Design changes to the overall depth of the stage, the addition of a cross-over behind the stage, a portable orchestra pit, upgrades to stage lighting, cushioned wood flooring, black scrim, additional tormentor lights, and a base lighting upgrades to a parnel type fixture.
• Cause:  School District requested.
• Justification: The changes in design and final product will better match the intended use of the facility recommended by the community and Spanish River High.  The additional costs associated with the upgrades will be financed by the Spanish River Community High School.
• Several of these modifications will be incorporated into future auditorium projects.

• Construction costs are estimated to be approximately $250,000.00, and will be incorporated into the GMP.

* The revised opening date is August 2006.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $273,900.00.

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.  The school will reimburse the District for these changes which were requested by the school.
