Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve the Educational Specification for the addition to Royal Palm School, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents. Description: Royal Palm School 1. The addition to Royal Palm School is scheduled to commence 2006 and be completed by 2007 according to the Board-adopted FY 2005 - FY 2009 Five-Year Plan. 2. The “FISH Capacity” of this school design would be 564 for an enrollment of 589, which includes full-time and part-time Pre-Kindergarten. 3. The Educational Specification includes the expansion of the core capacity for use by the existing enrollment. The original design of the facility was for a population of 280 students. 4. The existing facility presently has twenty- three (23) portables. The proposed educational specification includes twenty-six (26) instructional spaces. 5. The Educational Specification also reflects the addition of instructional spaces for use by the existing enrollment. 6. The existing facilities will be analyzed by the project architect to determine appropriate usage of the site and buildings for necessary renovations and remodeling to meet SREF size standards, ADA requirements and other code issues. 7.
