Title: PM8 Project Modifications for Congress Middle

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $26,220.00 for Congress Middle School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Congress Middle School - Modernization Project #1581-8339

This Project Modification contains the following item:

• Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $26,220.00
• Description:  The A/E will provide construction phasing drawings for the following: (1) Demolition and site clearing of the M&PO maintenance and salvage yard, (2) demolition, site clearing and site preparation for the new middle school building pad, and (3) demolition of all existing school buildings and all supporting infrastructure.
• Cause:  School District Requested.
• Justification:  The existing Congress Middle School on the project site needs to remain intact and active for a period of one year beyond completion of the new middle school.  This requirement to use Congress Middle School as a holding school was not known at the time of contract award.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $26,220.00.

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
