Title: P5 License Agreement for Convention Center

Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the License Agreement with Palm Beach County Convention Center and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

P5  Approve the License Agreement with the Palm Beach County Convention Center for the “Teach in Palm Beach” Job Fair

 

·      The annual District "Teach in Palm Beach" Job Fair to recruit teachers to Palm Beach County will be held at   Discover Palm Beach County, Inc., dba Palm Beach County Convention Center, on May 2, 2006.

 

·      The District "Teach in Palm Beach" Job Fair will attract teacher candidates from local, state, national and international areas.  Past Job Fairs have attracted over 1,000 teacher candidates.

 

·      The District "Teach in Palm Beach" Job Fair will provide all principals an opportunity to interview and to hire   experienced teachers, recent college graduates, and Alternative Certification / Transition to Teaching teacher candidates.

 

 ·     District contracts will be offered to outstanding teacher candidates.

 

·     Business partners will participate as vendors to help defray the costs for the District "Teach in Palm Beach" Job Fair.

 

 ·    Information on affordable housing / certification / wage and salary / benefits will be available on-site.

 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $9,500 from the Recruitment funds of the Title II budget.  An expected $3,790 to be generated from vendor fees.  There is no financial impact to the Operating Budget.
