Title: PM1 Ed Specs for West Boynton Area Elementary School 03-Z Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Educational Specification for construction of the new West Boynton Area Elementary School (03-Z), and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
- The construction of new West Boynton Area Elementary School (03-Z) is scheduled to commence 2007 and be completed by 2008 according to the Board-adopted FY 2006 Five-Year Plan.
- The Educational Specification for West Boynton Area Elementary School (03-Z) is consistent with the Class Size Reduction (CSR) Facility Lists and CSR generic educational specification approved by the Board on October 19, 2005.
- The “CSR” FISH Capacity” of this school design will be 964 and the “”Program Capacity” of this school design will be for 964 students grades Kindergarten to 5. The use of the “Program Capacity” for the construction of the school is consistent with the Charter School District Waiver granted by the Florida Board of Education on January 21, 2003.
- The Educational Specification reflects the use of grade level grouping to enable implementation of the “school-within-a-school” concepts.
- The Educational Specification was reviewed and approved by the Principal.
Financial Impact:
Financial impact will be determined when construction contract is negotiated.
