Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with Acai Associates, Inc. in the amount of $364,704. and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Okeeheelee Middle School Classroom Addition, Project No. 2151-8307.

Description:

CP1 A/E Agmnt for Okeeheelee MS Classroom Addition

Architectural Design Services required for development of completed design documents for construction of a 286 student station classroom addition to achieve class size reduction. 

Approved Budget for Planning and Design:  $325,770.

Approved Budget for Construction:         $4,878,990.

Fee for Basic Service: $317,134.  (Based on 6.5% of current construction budget)

Funds Available For:
Additional Services: $31,713.

Reimbursables: $15,857.
Total Contract Award: $364,704.

Four (4) firms responded to the RFP and three (3) were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

(1) Acai Associates, Inc. (Hispanic)

(2) Brown & Brown Architect, Inc. (Hispanic)

(3) Harvard Jolly, Inc.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $375,962. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $11,258.
