Title: Settlement re: Christine Hall v. PBCSD

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Settlement & Release in the matter of Christine Hall v. Palm Beach County School District, a copy of which is attached hereto, and authorize the execution of all related documents.

Description:

• Dr. Hall was an Assistant Principal for the District from August, 2000 to August, 2004.
• Dr.  Hall filed a Charge of Discrimination with the EEOC alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.   
• The claims have been settled and the parties acknowledge this is the entire agreement and there are no other representations other than what is contained in the Settlement Agreement. 
• Authority in the amount of $22,500.00 to settle all claims was granted by the Board at a prior attorney-client session. 
• Settling this judgment in the amount of $22,500.00 is in the best interest of the District.
• The attached Settlement Agreement is subject to School Board approval.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District is $22,500 from the general fund.
