Title: P9 RFP 03C-015B Speech & Language Therapy Services

Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the renewal of RFP 03C-015B for Speech and Language Therapy Services and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

P9  Approve the renewal of RFP 03C-015B for Speech and Language Therapy Services

·      Request for Proposal No. 03C-015B was awarded by Board action on June 25, 2003, to Boca Speech Center, Interim Healthcare of the Treasure Coast and Rehabworks for three years, from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006 with the option to renew for two addi­tional one-year periods.

·       The first option to renew is now being exercised for the period July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.

·       Boca Speech Center, Interim Healthcare of the Treasure Coast and Rehabworks have agreed to honor terms, conditions and pricing of existing con­tract for the forth­coming contract period.  

·      Services to be provided include speech and language therapy services for students ages 3 – 5 years old who are enrolled in Head Start programs and approved child care centers, who have disorders of language, articulation, fluency, or voice which interfere with communication, pre-academic or academic learning or social adjustments, and students in grades k-12 and eligible students in parentally placed private schools in compliance with IDEA 2004. Rates per hour are firm for the duration of the contract.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District Budget is estimated at $2,000,000.  The source of funds is the Exceptional Student Education Department budget.
