Title: G7-Prime Time Palm Beach County Summer Camps Grant for Bear Lakes and Lake Shore Middle Schools

Recommendation:
I recommend approval of the Prime Time Palm Beach County Summer Camps Grant in the amount of $44,021 for Bear Lakes and Lake Shore Middle Schools, effective June 5, 2006 through July 20, 2006 and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents that are required for implementation of grant activities.

Description:

• This grant will provide funding for summer camp programs at Bear Lakes and Lake Shore Middle Schools for at-risk youth who would otherwise not be served.
• Between 75 and 89 middle school age youth will be served for seven weeks, four days a week, and be provided with breakfast and lunch.
• Activities will encompass reading and math skills development and recreation opportunities.
• The Manager of Out-of-School Programs will administer and monitor the grant.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Special Revenue-Other Funds Budget is an increase of $44,021.  There is no financial impact to the Operating Budget.
