Title: PM1 Educational Specification for Allamanda Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Educational Specification for the modernization of Allamanda Elementary and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
- The construction of Allamanda Elementary School modernization is scheduled to commence 2007 and be completed by 2008 according to the Board-adopted FY 2006-10 Five-Year Plan.
- The Educational Specification for Allamanda Elementary is consistent with the Class Size Reduction (CSR) Facility Lists and CSR generic educational specification approved by the Board on October 19, 2005.
- The “CSR” FISH Capacity of this school design will be 745 and the ”Program Capacity” of this school design will be for 624 students grades Kindergarten to 5. The use of the “Program Capacity” for the construction of the school is consistent with the Charter School District Waiver granted by the Florida Board of Education on January 21, 2003.
- The Educational Specification includes sixteen (16) additional classrooms for existing autistic and other ESE program needs.
- The Educational Specification reflects the use of grade level grouping to enable implementation of the “school-within-a-school” concepts.
- The Educational Specification was reviewed and approved by the Principal.
Financial Impact:
Financial impact will be determined when construction contract is negotiated.
