Title: Settlement and Release re: Teresa Krellner

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the Settlement & Release in the matter of Teresa Krellner v. Palm Beach County School District, a copy of which is attached hereto, and authorize the execution of all related documents.

Description:

• Teresa Krellner was employed by the School District of Palm Beach County as a Part-time Girls Basketball Coach
• Teresa Krellner filed a lawsuit in Circuit Court, alleging she was terminated as a Coach because of her gender.    
• The claims have been settled and the parties acknowledge this is the entire agreement and there are no other representations other than what is contained in the Settlement Agreement. 
• Authority to settle all claims was granted by the Board at a prior attorney-client session. 
• Settlement is in the amount of $55,000.00.
• This Settlement is in the best interest of the District.
• The attached Settlement Agreement is subject to School Board approval.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District is $55,000 from the general fund.
