Title: Recommendation: Description: This Highridge Family Center residential program provides educational services for up to seventy-two (72) disciplinary and truant male and female youths between the ages of 11 and 15. The goal of these additional educational services is to provide a remedial instruction program and opportunity for credit award. This is the fourth year for offering the summer school/extended school year opportunity to "at risk" students at this facility. Last summer, thirty-six (36) high school students were able to receive 1.0 additional credit toward graduation and twenty-three (23) middle school students took classes that enabled them to meet pupil progression standards for promotion to the next grade level. The Highridge Family Center/Board of County Commissioners will provide to the School District a lump sum of approximately $18,223 to fund four (4) teachers, one (1) Para Professional, utilities and supplies on Tuesday through Friday, June 6 through June 9 and Monday through Friday, July 24 through 28, and seven (7) Fridays June 23, June 16, June 30, July 7, July 14 and July 21, plus, .5 administrator on Fridays during June and July. The School District will provide the funding for three (3) teachers, one (1) Para Professional, utilities and supplies on Monday, June 5, and Monday through Thursday, June 12 through July 20.
