Title: PL2 Extension of Financial Assistance Agreement between Palm Beach County and the School Board

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the first amendment to the Financial Assistance Agreement between the School Board of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach County for landscaping at the West Boca Raton Community High School.

Description: On February 28, 2006, The School District and Palm Beach County entered into a Financial Assistance Agreement for buffer landscaping to be placed at the West Boca Raton Community High School.  The School District of Palm Beach County is requesting an extension for the completion of the project from September 30, 2006 to September 30, 2007.  The project was assigned to our Minor Projects Section of the School District’s Facilities Department.  Due to the increased workload for compliance with the Class Size Reduction Initiative required by the State, work on the landscaping project has not advanced.  The requested extension will allow sufficient for the completion of the landscaping project at the West Boca Raton Community High School.

Financial Impact:
$100,000 from Capital Contingency with reimbursement from Palm Beach County.
