Title: Academic Games All-Stars

Description:

The Palm Beach County Academic Games All-Stars recently returned from the forty-first annual Academic Games League of America National Tournament in Charlotte, NC.  Thirty-seven students in grades 4 - 12 represented the county in competition in mathematics (Equations), language arts (Linguishtiks and Propaganda) and social studies (World Events and Presidents).  The teams of students from Palm Beach County represented sixteen different district public schools.   The students were accompanied by nine district teacher/chaperones.

Palm Beach County brought home five national team championships, two second place team awards and five third place team trophies.  National Championships were won in World Events (Elementary, Middle and Senior divisions), Presidents (Elementary) and Linguishtiks (Elementary).  Mark Cardish from Independence Middle School won the National Championship in World Events in the Elementary division (Grades 4 - 6).
