Title: Debra Johnson Innovative Principal of the Year

Description: Don Estridge High Tech Middle School Principal Debra Johnson has been named Florida "Innovative Principal of the Year."  The Florida Council of Instruction Technology presents the award annually to a principal who demonstrates successful program implementations utilizing technology to further student achievement.  Students at Don Estridge High tech Middle School are immersed in rigorous technology-infused learning that ignites their interests and promotes their success.  Using technology teachers have increased time to design and develop higher quality instructional programs to meet the learning needs of all students.  School-to-home communication is enhanced through an Internet portal to student assignment calendars, grades, school activities, links to electronic instructional materials, and email communication among parents, students and teachers.
