Title: CP1 Architectural Agreement for Suncoast HS

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with MPA Architects, Inc. in the amount of $3,276,350. and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Suncoast High School, Project No.0151-7511.

Description:

Architectural/ design services required for development of completed design documents for the construction of a 1,400 student station high school facility of approximately 260,000 gross square
feet.

Approved Budget for Planning and Design: $3,410,850. 
Approved Construction Budget: $63,309,000. 
Minority Participation: 20%
Base Fee: $2,849,000.

Funds Available For:

Additional Services: $284,900. 
Reimbursables.: $142,500.

Total: $3,276,350.

Nine (9) firms responded to the RFP of which Three (3) were shortlisted.  The Final Ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows:

MPA Architects, Inc. (Hispanic American)
BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc.
Song & Associates, Inc. (Female)

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $3,276,350. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $134,500.
