Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve the renewal of the Head Start Delegate Agency contract with the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners at Delray Full Service Center in the amount of $1,075,528 effective October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006. Description: This contract will provide funding for services for 185 children, 3 & 4 years of age from low income families. The funding provides personnel, field trips, materials, supplies, audio visual materials, software, equipment, travel for home visits and Head Start Delegate Agency meetings, curriculum, staff development, parent involvement, transportation and food eligible students. In addition, it provides funding for medical, dental and mental health children in need of services. Performance will be measured by the following: >Monitoring four times during the 2005-2006 contract year by the grant, based on Health Program Performance Standards, which are designed to ensure Head Start goals and objectives. >85% of the Head Start children in attendance daily. >100% of the Head Start children screened for medical & dental services. >Readiness surveys completed for all four-year olds transitioning to kindergarten. >Continued utilization of Galileo software, which generates data on individual child outcome.
