Title: AC10 Extension of Charter School District Contract

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the extension of the Charter School District Contract between the State Board of Education and the School Board of Palm Beach County, effective January 23, 2006 and will expire on July 1, 2007. The extension of the contract is pending State Board of Education approval on October 18, 2005 

Description:

4     The original performance contract was made on January 21, 2003 between the State Board of Education and the School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida.

4     The original contract was for a three-year period and expires on January 22, 2006.

4    Florida Statute 1003.62(7) allows the pilot charter districts to extend their contract with the State Board of Education until July 1, 2007.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District is dependent upon implementation of waivers and identification of additional waivers during the contract extension.
