Title: CP1 A/E Agmnt for Hagen Road Elementary School

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with Harvard Jolly, Inc. in the amount of $1,135,500 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Hagen Road Elementary School Replacement, Project No.1421-8359.

Description:

Architectural Design Services required for completion of permitted design documents for an 889 student station, 120,656 GSF replacement school with core facilities for 960 student stations. The design shall incorporate appropriate consideration and planning for a 151 student station, 15,217 GSF future classroom addition  

Approved Budget for Planning and Design: $1,114,350

Approved Budget for Construction:         $18,717,531

Fee for Basic Service: $970,000 

Funds Available For:
Additional Fees for Basic Services: $97,000

Additional Fees for Off-site Civil Engineering and Related Expenses: $20,000
Reimbursible Expenses: $48,500

Total Contract Award: $1,135,500

Eight (8) firms responded to the RFP and three (3) were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

(1) Harvard Jolly, Inc.

(2) BRPH Architects-Engineers

(3) Tercilla Courtemanche

Minority Participation: 20%

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $1,135,500. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $375,850
