Title: CP2 A/E Agmnt for West Boynton Area ES (03-Z)

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with Zyscovich, Inc. in the amount of $1,006,250 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for West Boynton Area Elementary School, Project No.0281-8343.

Description:

Utilizing a permitted and constructed design as a prototype, the Work requires design services necessary to complete permitted design documents for construction of a 122,900 GSF, 960 student capacity, K-5 elementary school with related facilities. The new facility shall be designed and constructed to allow for future addition of a 1458 student capacity middle school facility that will incorporate shared athletic fields with the County park site planned for the adjacent property to the south of the school site.   

Approved Budget for Planning and Design:  $1,000,000

Approved Budget for Construction:          $17,800,000

Reuse Fee for Elementary School Prototype: $445,000

Fees for Basic Services and Master Planning, Site Adaptation, Plan Modification, Additional Civil Engineering for Lift Station: $430,000 

Funds Available For:
Additional Services: $87,500

Reimbursable Expenses: $43,750
Total Contract Award: $1,006,250

 

Four (4) firms responded to the RFP. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

 

(1) Zyscovich, Inc.

(2) Schenkel Shultz Architecture, Inc.

(3) BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc.

(4) Song & Associates, Inc.

 

Minority Participation: 20%

 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $1,006,250. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $37,100.
