Title: CP5 Value Engineering and Construction Estimating Services Consultant on Continuing Contract

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the Continuing Contract for Value Engineering and Construction Estimating Services on Continuing Contract to Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc. for a period of one (1) year from July 6, 2006 through July 5, 2007 in a not to exceed amount of $300,000 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all related documents.

Description:

The selected firm will assist the District with analyzing construction costs and methods utilizing   Society of American Value Engineering (SAVE) International and The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International processes.

Five (5) firms responded to the RFP and Three (3) were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows:

(2) Faithful & Gould, Inc.

(3) PMA Consultants LLC

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is from various funds in an amount not to exceed $300,000 per year. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget.
