Title: AC3 MOU Between PBCSD & PBC Health Department

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the Memorandum of Agreement between the School Board of Palm Beach County and the Department of Health, Palm Beach County Health Department. This Agreement will become an Addendum to the School Health Services Plan and will be renewed annually with the School Health Services Plan.

Description:

4     The purpose of the School Health Program and the statutorily mandated cooperation between the Palm Beach County Health Department and the School District is to ensure each student’s health and well-being.

4     The Palm Beach County Health Department has been statutorily required to protect the health of all citizens of Palm Beach County, and has been given the responsibility to supervise the administration of the school health services program.

4     The Agreement to allow the Palm Beach County Health Department to utilize School Board facilities for the provision of health services and programs to students will ensure that students are able to access and receive those health services that have been identified in the School Health Plan and mandated by Florida Statutes 381.0056.

A copy of the School Health Plan is available in the Board Office for review.

Financial Impact:

There is no financial impact to the General Fund Budget.
