Title: PD1 Aguirre Settlement and Release

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Settlement & Release in the matter of Urbia Aguirre  v. Palm Beach County School District, a copy of which is attached hereto, and authorize the execution of all related documents.

Description:

·         Ms. Aguirre worked as an Assistant Food Services I at Boynton Beach Community High School for approximately five (5) years.   

·         Ms. Aguirre filed a Charge of Discrimination with the Florida Commission of Human Relations alleging ethnic/national origin discrimination.   

·         This claim was settled at mediation due to the fact that Ms. Aguirre applied for and received a transfer to another location whereby reducing her hours by one hour per day.  

·         Settling this judgment in the amount of $1,750.00 is in the best interest of the District

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the District is $1,750.00 from the general fund.
