Title: PM1 Generic Facilities Lists and Educational Specifications Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Generic Program Facilities Lists for the Educational Plant Survey and Generic Educational Specifications for Elementary, Middle and High Schools and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
- The State Board of Education on June 21, 2005 approved changes to State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF) to meet Class Size Reduction. The changes went into effect August 2005.
- Previously approved Facilities Lists for Elementary, Middle and High Schools were developed as part of the process for completion of the 2003 Educational Plant Survey. These October 2005 lists supersede the lists developed in 2003.
- The annual up-date of the Generic Educational Specifications for Elementary, Middle and High Schools is based on the June 2005 SREF changes.
- For modernization of existing schools and other schools with a high concentration of special program needs, additional teaching spaces may be provided to meet program capacity per the approval on January 21, 2003 of the Charter District. Waiver.
Financial Impact:
Financial impact will be determined when construction contract is negotiated.
